What is the Business Case AcceleratorTM?

The Business Case Accelerator (BCA) is an online tool we use internally, and make available to our clients, to help create and shape a business case for digital transformation. The tool is based on over 130 value drivers that help you calculate the potential benefits from transforming your systems and processes. These drivers apply regardless of any solutions or technologies you may be exploring and you are free to choose the ones that are most relevant to your organisation / industry.

How does it work?

Once registered, you will be invited to create an account via email. This account will allow you to access the tool and complete the steps needed to create your business case. The accelerator will guide your through five steps:

  1. Define your project
    We ask you to enter a Problem Statement (why are your writing this business case), select your project scope (Finance / HR / Payroll), and consider the types of benefits you are seeking for your organisation.
  2. Select your drivers
    Once you have selected your project scope, the accelerator will display a list of our top drivers for you to review and select. Hover over the title of each one to read more details and select the ones most relevant to your organisation.
  3. Calculate your benefits
    This step will display an interactive calculation for each of the drivers you selected. Enter a value in each of the fields and click the calculate button to estimate a potential saving. Use the arrows to navigate through each of your selected drivers.
  4. Estimate your project costs
    There are six key cost components that may apply to your business case. This page gives an explanation of each and allows you to enter estimated values. Once you have entered the project costs, you can use the controls to set the proportion of OPEX to be capitalised, when the CAPEX should be capitalised, and how quickly you expect your benefits to be realised. The table at the bottom of the page will show the resulting Return on Investment calculation.
  5. Review your business case
    This is where all your inputs come together and are displayed as an accelerated business case. This page can be printed using your browser's settings to save a pdf report for sharing with your colleagues / stakeholders.

What type of projects can the accelerator be used for?

The Business Case Accelerator works any Finance, HR or Payroll projects of all shapes and sizes.

Is it free?

Yes! Once registered, you will be invited to select three of our top value drivers that are most relevant to your organisation / industry. Once you have completed the tool, you are invited to work with our Advisory experts to dive deeper and complete your full business case (may be chargeable).

What about my data?

Your account allows you to safely and securely enter the data we need to complete an accelerated business case. We don't ask for any personally identifiable information, though some of it may be sensitive e.g. indicative staff costs.
